Swim Safety provides water quality testing and analysis services to many open water swimming, triathlon & OCR events and venues in the UK. One of the key challenges for event organisers & venue operators is that it can often be difficult to organise one-off or irregular water sampling at a reasonable cost. Furthermore, many of the results that are returned are raw data, with little or no interpretation.
As part of our service, we provide the raw data but also align the results to the EU bathing water directive standards and BTF regulations on a traffic-light colour coded system to make them easily understandable.
What’s included?
- We charge per sampling occasion – this means, each time the water samples are taken and sent to the lab.
- The cost of each sampling occasion includes:
- Sterile sample bottles delivery to you
- Full sampling instructions and submission paperwork
- Return postage packaging and label(s) – samples can be dropped off at your local post office once collected (courier collections can be arranged if required for an additional charge)
- Traffic light coded analysis certificate comparing results against EU Bathing Water and World Health Organisation standards
Results are normally available within 72 working hours of submission. Faster times may be available in certain circumstances.
Please note that as part of the service, we do not obtain the samples for you. Instead, we provide you with a kit to enable you to take them yourselves. We then supply you with the results.
How are your samples tested? All microbiology samples are analysed in UKAS accredited laboratories. This ensures samples are dealt with in accordance with industry best practice, which reduces the risk of spoilt samples and means results supplied can be confidently relied upon.
Blue-Green algae samples are analysed against World Health Organisation (WHO) guidelines for blue-green algae, following industry standards.
